Welcome to Yardley

Yardley, PA

Yardley, PA is a historic borough located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  Founded in 1682 it  has a rich history that dates back to the colonial era. The town played a role in the American Revolutionary War and has many well-preserved historic buildings that showcase its heritage. Yardley is one of our Newtopias, a really lovely little village with some of the most picturesque settings. Who doesn’t think Norman Rockwell when passing Lake Afton, especially in the winter when it is frozen over and full of ice skaters. Even better, these days you just have to skate to the edge for a Starbucks hot chocolate.

Originally settled by William Yardley in 1682 and developed into a village at the turn of the nineteenth century, this Borough is now home to shops, offices, great bakery (Cramers) and the busiest WAWA I have ever had the joy of going into!  The Continental and The Yardley Inn offer two super eating/drinking establishments along with The Vault, and Charcoal.

All this plus The Delaware River and The Delaware Raritan Canal, providing a towpath for walkers, cyclists etc. and a home for all kinds of ducks (the kids love it).

Besides being picturesque, this place is really handy for the train to New York City or to Philadelphia, and is in close proximity to all the major arteries (route 1 -I95 – turnpike).

The Borough is the hub, surrounded by Lower Makefield (the township) which offers a great variety of home styles and many more amenities, golf, library, swimming pool, supermarkets and lots more restaurants.

If you choose to live in or around this Newtopia, the kids will go to the award winning Pennsbury School District or you can choose from a wide array of private schools.
